Yes, it’s worth it to keep collecting!
Mid-December we had to raise the alarm. We had received only 10,000 signatures. Now we are at 38,000!!! Is it still worth it, many asked us since then.
We say YES three times:
➊ YES, due to the COVID situation we win three weeks and are allowed to continue collecting until the referendum deadline on January 20. The State Chancellery exceptionally allows to finish the certification of the 50,000 signatures after they have been delivered.
➋ YES, because we are receiving more signatures every day. More people are collecting and many organizations have (re)called to sign and to collect signatures. If we continue at this rhythm, we will just make it.
➌ YES, collecting allows us to take space on the streets and in the media in order to inform the majority of society about the problems with Frontex and the problematic role of Switzerland at the external borders of Fortress Europe. This seems necessary. Many do not know anything about Frontex.
Let’s be realistic, let’s try the impossible!
