The problem with Frontex

As the European border and coast guard, Frontex is partly responsible for violence, misery and death at Europe’s external borders. The accusations against Frontex are serious: lack of transparency, turning a blind eye and involvement in human rights violations. Research confirms what people in exile have been saying for years: Frontex is complicit in human rights violations and illegal pushbacks.

Nevertheless, there are plans to massively expand Frontex – also with money from Switzerland. The annual contribution is to be increased from CHF 14 million today to CHF 61 million per year by 2027. A referendum was successfully launched against this. Now it will be put to the vote on 15 May. We say: No to Frontex.

For this we need your support

In order to strengthen our demand “No to Frontex – Yes to freedom of movement” until May 15, we need your financial support. It should be a referendum in solidarity with migrants, saying YES to freedom of movement for all and NO to Frontex. Privileges should be used against discrimination. The voices, experiences and interests of all those who are disenfranchised, beaten and deported at the external borders because of or alongside Frontex should be better heard and seen in Switzerland – in the heart of Fortress Europe.
